Largest Express Entry draw of 2018 issues 3,900 invitations to apply

September 07 2018

Canada has invited 3,900 Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence in a draw that took place on Wednesday, September 5. The cut-off Comprehensive Ranking Score for this draw was 440.

This is the fourth all-program draw in 2018 with a minimum score of 440, which is the lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score drawn in 2018 to date.

This draw was held on April 29, 2018, at 14:28:34 UTC. Thus, all the candidates with a CRS score above 440, as well as those candidates with scores of 440 who submitted their profile before this specified date and time, received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in this invitation round.

Three main federal economic immigration services categories are under the management of Express Entry namely, the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class. Express Entry creates profiles of candidates under these divisions. Candidates are ranked according to their CRS score and the highest-ranked candidates are issued an ITA through regular invitation rounds.

During 2018, IRCC has issued a set number of ITAs over a series of draws, and then raised the number of ITAs by addition of 250 or 500. Draw sizes began at 2,750 at the start of 2018 and have increased drastically to the current size of 3,900 ITAs.
